I know that during the TAFE state conference some of my classmates participated in different competitions, workshops and other activities. This school year I didn't really get involved in any TAFE activity but I wish I had made better decisions as to getting involved. If I had a new opportunity to get involved in all the activities TAFE offers I would certainly take them and get involved. Since my schedule for next year doesn't allow me to take Education and Training class again I will think about becoming a student assistant and try to do all the stuff I didn't get to do this year.Friday, February 17, 2012

Who is Stacey Bess?
Stacey Bess is a teacher that had to go through a lot in her first teaching assignment. She started teaching at The School with No Name, located in a small shed behind a community homeless shelter. She taught Kindergarten through sixth grade to children with no homes. Stacey can remember many times having frightened children tucked into bed with her in the middle of the night. Nobody Don't Love Nobody is a book written based on her story. The book also inspired the Hallmark Hall of fame movie "Beyond the Blackboard." Stacey has been through so many challenges that I feel I wouldn't be able to do as good as she has done. I'm happy to know that there are still teachers that are willing to help the poor as much as she did.

Bullying in School
Bullying can occur anywhere, not only in schools. There is one main type of bullying that in my opinion is the ones that happen the most. I have seen the shy, quite person that gets bullied for being a “nerd” and good student. I think that in BISD there is a bullying problem with bullying, it’s just that sometimes students and faculty don’t realize it.
I have seen students being bullied at school; in fact I have been bullied before. At that time I didn’t realized I was being bullied but now that I know more about the subject I know that should’ve let an adult know about it. That’s why in my opinion teachers should try to make all their students get along among each other to prevent bullying.
